Accelerated metabolism diet, what is it and how to take advantage of it?

12 minutos 4640 views

Have you heard of the accelerated metabolism diet? Is it another of those fad diets that promise to make you lose weight without the dreaded rebound effect? From here we want to reflect on it, on its advantages and disadvantages; but, above all, we want to explore its possibilities to take what can be beneficial for the organism and adapt it to our dietary system. The aim is none other than to make our diet healthier, more balanced and able to make the metabolism work better. After all, this is one of the keys to maintaining quality of life.

What is the Accelerated Metabolism Diet?

This is a way of eating that promises to slim and repair your metabolism based on a rich, healthy and varied diet. This way of eating is based on the fact that a metabolism that works faster can burn more calories – even when the body is at rest – and therefore allows you to lose weight. Or at least not to put on weight.

In other words, the aim is to lose weight as the metabolism starts to work better. The accelerated metabolism diet or AMD is the brainchild of Haylie Pomroy, a dietician to stars such as Jennifer Lopez. As a diet with such a high media profile, it has a huge following, but also many detractors.

To find out if it is right for us, we are going to break down the DMA to reach our conclusions. We recommend that you do this exercise before any diet or food system that is presented to you as “the solution”. In any case, it is also a good idea to consult your GP, to explore the possible contraindications that this diet could cause depending on your basic condition.

Pillars of the accelerated Metabolism diet

Since the ultimate goal is to speed up the metabolism, there are four basic pillars to keep in mind and to try to follow to the letter:

  • Zero junk food, which is not only unhealthy but also disrupts your metabolism.
  • Eat more healthy food to activate and speed up your metabolism.
  • Exercising or playing sports, and staying active are essential to keep the metabolism active.
  • Avoid stress, and try to maintain a state of tranquillity for as long as possible. It is a good idea to practice yoga, meditate or take long reflective walks.

How does it work?

The Accelerated Metabolism Diet lasts for a minimum of 28 days, which is equivalent to one cycle. Each cycle has 4 weeks and each week has 3 phases. These phases have specific characteristics and objectives. They are distributed as follows:

  • 2 days of Phase 1
  • 2 days of Phase 2
  • 3 days of Phase 3

This is how each week is organised. Once you have completed one cycle, you can start another one based on your objectives and the results obtained.

What does each phase of the Accelerated Metabolism Diet consist of?

Let’s see what you can and can’t eat in each of the phases. We have already told you that the idea is to favour fruit and vegetables and pay close attention to the recommended intake of proteins and healthy fats.

Phase 1: fruits and grains

The aim is to assimilate food and transform it into energy. The natural sugars ingested during this phase help to calm the adrenal glands. Fruits and grains with a medium glycaemic index – low protein and zero fat – should be chosen. You should also include at least one cardio workout.

For example, you can eat as many vegetables as you want, a portion of meat and a portion of fish, whole grains and fruit.

Phase 2: protein and alkaline vegetables

This phase aims to release accumulated fat. This is the phase with the least calories and the most animal protein. No cereals are consumed in this phase and no fats are consumed. Vegetables should be alkaline and training should be anaerobic.

Phase 3: Healthy fats

The aim is to transform the fats released during phase 2 into energy. This phase is rich in healthy fats, moderate in protein, low in grains and low in low-glycemic fruits. It includes a relaxing physical activity, such as yoga. Vegetables, as in the other phases, can be consumed without restriction.

What is of interest to us about the metabolism-boosting diet?

Sometimes it can be a little difficult to follow such restrictive dietary guidelines. That’s why we find it so hard to stick to a diet. What is interesting about the fast metabolism diet is that it combines exercise, healthy eating, rest and stress-reducing activities.

If you want to lose weight, you can follow these tips and supplement your diet with trace elements that promote weight loss, such as silica, magnesium and collagen. The idea is that if you take care of your insides and nourish your body well, you will have enough energy to carry out an exercise plan that favours weight loss. We recommend you:

  • Silicium G7 Original Dynamised, the highly assimilable and chemically organic silica, makes it very effective in its assimilation.
  • G7 LipoReduct+ is an anti-cellulite and anti-stretch mark treatment that is specially formulated to treat cellulite. It can reduce the accumulation of fat in adipose tissue, so you can try it on areas of the body with localised fat, such as the inner thighs and arms.
  • Orgono Articomplex, essential for maximising physical activity and getting the most out of sport, as we have seen, is one of the keys to keeping your metabolism active.

After learning more about the Accelerated Metabolism Diet, we can conclude that it is based on healthy eating and living habits that can contribute a lot to your health. However, it is not necessary to restrict food groups so much or make them conditional on certain types of physical activity. Enjoying good food and exercise, keeping stress at bay and getting enough rest are in themselves factors that will help you to lose weight progressively.
