Summer is finally here! A wonderful season that many of us are looking forward to, but…. we must take certain care if we don’t want to arrive in autumn with an unattractive face. A simple facial beauty routine is enough to enjoy these months without problems.
Taking care of your skin in summer is not an option
The sun: a double-edged star
During the summer season there are a number of external agents that can damage the complexion.
The sun is the most problematic.
While controlled sun exposure is necessary to avoid vitamin D deficiency, it can have a number of consequences for the skin:
- Burns and pigmentation.
- Dryness, flaccidity and fragility.
- Premature appearance and accentuation of wrinkles.
- Chronic lesions can lead to cancer.
It is not surprising that prolonged exposure to UV radiation is the main cause of skin ageing.
Other skin aggressors
There are more factors that damage the skin at this time of year.
Chlorine from swimming pools, salt from the sea, humidity from the coast, constant temperature changes every time you go in and out of an establishment, excessive sweating, insect bites…
And, of course, food and rest.
Who hasn’t overeaten during their holidays or stayed up later than they should have?
Our skin suffers.
Add it all up and the effects of summer on the face are obvious:
- Dehydrated and wrinkled appearance.
- Roughness, redness, tightness, itching and flaking.
- Spots, imperfections and lack of luminosity.
- Intensification of skin pathologies: rosacea, fungal infections, seborrhoeic dermatitis, etc.
If you don’t want to get to September like this, grab a pen and paper and write down this facial beauty routine.
Summer facial beauty routine in 7 steps
1. Cleansing
Start the morning by first washing your eyes and lips. Then wash your face and neck with lukewarm water and a neutral soap that suits your skin.
Then use a toner that stabilises the skin’s pH. It will help to tighten pores and regenerate the skin’s natural protective barrier. It will also remove traces of make-up, pollution and any dirt.
Repeat this wash at night.
And here’s a tip!
If you’re travelling and can’t take these products with you, replace them with makeup remover wipes. They’re not the best option, but they’ll get you by for a few days.
On the other hand, you also can gently exfoliate once a week to remove dead skin. You will renew the epidermis and oxygenate the skin, which will also improve the action of cosmetics.
2. Serum
The essential ally in your summer facial beauty routine, as it provides a large amount of active ingredients for the skin.
An example of this is Silicium Serum + Essential Elixir, a pack with a lifting and firming effect based on organic silicon and various essential oils.
- It stimulates collagen synthesis, giving brightness and firmness.
- Ensures skin regeneration and activates cell renewal.
- Reduces wrinkles in depth.
- Intensely nourishes.
- Prevents skin damage caused by environmental pollution.
After cleansing and toning, use the serum on the face and neck. Then apply a few drops of the elixir and massage gently from the inside out.
Do this in the morning and evening to keep your complexion spotless.
3. Eye area
This is a more demanding area as it is thinner and drier. So choose a cream that is well suited to your needs: reduce wrinkles, drain puffiness and/or blur dark circles.
Spread it with gentle circular movements around the eye contour, and finish by applying light pressure.
And another tip!
Keep it in the fridge. The cold favours decongestion and tightening of the skin.
4. Moisturising cream
After leaving the previous two to work for a few seconds, it’s time to moisturise your complexion to keep it supple and luminous.
With a good cream you will even reinforce the action of the serum and prevent oxidation and evaporation of the other products.
For example Silicium Rose Musquée. A formula that incorporates organic silicon to make the rosehip itself and its already powerful moisturising, softening, regenerating and anti-ageing effect even more effective.
Use morning and evening, or more often if you bathe in the sea or pool frequently. Apply in gentle circles.
By the way, don’t forget to moisturise your lips with an appropriate lipstick as well.
5. Sunscreen
Sunscreens have been around for a long time, and thank goodness.
The sun can be very damaging to the skin, especially in summer because of the greater intensity of its rays.
So don’t skimp on this point.
Choose a sunscreen specifically for the face and another for the body, always according to your skin type and with an SPF greater than 30.
And don’t wait to go to the beach. Not even summer as such.
If you’re going out (to work, shopping, for a walk…) and the sun is shining, go for a sunbathe. Whatever month it is.
If you have been exposed to the sun for a long time, it is advisable to apply an after-sun lotion at the end of your shower, as the dermis dries out a lot. You can take advantage of Silicium Rosa Mosqueta. It will rehydrate you as well as soothe you if you have been sunburnt.
6. Make-up
This depends a lot on each one of you.
Generally speaking, do what you usually do but with less, as you will pick up colour and it is the perfect time to look natural.
Also keep in mind that sweat and make-up don’t get along too well.
7. Beauty from within
If you want an extra boost to maximise the health and attractiveness of your complexion, take 1 tablet daily of G7 Beauty.
