What is granola and why should you include it in your breakfast and snacks?
Granola is a delicious food made from oat flakes or flakes and nuts mixed with honey and other natural ingredients that you can add as you like (dried fruit, seeds, spices and even cocoa). The mixture is baked and stirred to obtain a crunchy and loose consistency.
You can have it for breakfast with yoghurt, a glass of milk or a vegetable drink or with fresh fruit such as banana, apple or strawberries.
It is also ideal as a snack before or after exercise or on excursions.
Homemade fit granola is a healthy and tasty option that provides protein, vitamins, minerals and fibre.
Although they look very similar in appearance, granola is not the same as muesli because, although they share the same ingredients, the way they are made is different. In the case of muesli, the ingredients are used raw and mixed with milk or a hot or cold vegetable drink. Granola is usually eaten on its own as a cereal or with yoghurt or fresh fruit.
